One thing that might help is homemade ice packs!. I use recycled 12-16oz soda bottles!. Just fill almost all the way to the top with water and freeze!. When they melt, they may sweat a bit, but you can re-use them over and over, and work just great for my lunchbox!.
Have you tried cup-o-soups, just need warm water!. Any roll ups, even ones he can assemble there so the ingredients do not get soggy waiting to be eaten!. Flour tortillas, cheese, lettuce and whatever meats you have work great!. Even in the summer, maybe cold soups like gazpacho, frozen and let to thaw so it will be ready to eat when he's ready!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Could b/f take a small cooler lunch box!? If he could your options are more open, sometime you can even find them at the dollar store and the little blue freezer packs are cheap and keep food cool!.

Working in the fields he needs a lot of hydration so, try packing him a mix of raw veggies & differrent dips and a mix
of cut up or whole fruit!.
Make wraps (they come in a variety of flavors) experimenting with different meats, cheeses, and vegtables!.
Humus & Pita chips
Pasta Salads

Greek Pasta Salad

1 chicken breast poached, cooled, & chopped
1 pound of rotini pasta cooked, rinsed, & drained
1 cup kalamata olives
1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
1/4 cup green onion sliced
1 bell pepper chopped
1/2 cup feta cheese
1 1/2 cups of you favorite vinnagrette
salt & pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients and chill for at least 1 hour to let the flavors mingle!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

veggies, maybe celery and peanut butter, crackers, if your working like that you need protein for sure! Granola bars!. protein bars, a protein shake like slim fast or ensure thats in a can!.!.!.packed full of nutrients and protein and filling!. Does not need to be refrigerated!. In fact freeze the shake put it in with lunch and will be ready by lunchtime and the rest of the stuff will be cool too! Hope this helps!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

when I worked in the fields!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Surely you have a ice chest to carry food!. If not, then get some cans of convenience food!. I was raised on the farm and we sometimes carried sandwiches which had been frozen!. But now that there are so many nice small sizes of ice chests, carrying food to the field is simple!. Anything you have at home can be eaten in the field!. Just be sure to have plenty of zip lock bags and plastic food containers!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
