Need some second opinions pretty quick!?!

Question: Need some second opinions pretty quick!!?
I bought some chuck eye steak on the 25th and put it in the refrigerator!. I just took it out to cook it and on the bottom near the styrofoam were patches of brown discoloration!. The rest of the meat is a healthy red!. The date on the meat was the 28th!. I went ahead and started cooking it to see if it had any abnormal smell and it doesn't!. I'm wondering if I should feed this to my family!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It should be fine, I agree with another poster, as long as it didnt have a bad bad smell to it, and isnt slimy, its fine, Ive used meats (Except poultry) 1-3 days after expiration dates!. The best thing to do, is freeze it if you know youre not going to cook it at the time of purchase, as another poster suggested!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you frozen it before the expire date it is fine!. It even would be fine a few days after if you hadn't frozen it!. You checked the smell and it was fine, it's probably a little blood that seeped out and discolored - maybe by freezing it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if it doesn't smell, it should be fine, it was refrigerated!.after all what do supermarkts do, and sometimes you see a little discoloration there too, they still sell it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If it's only been one day past the date & it's not slimey/stinky, it should be fine! The brown usually occurs when the air hits the meat, some may have just got in in the fridge!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

you can still eat it
the discoloration is just the when the meat is left
in the air it truns it a brownish color but its still good
as long as it doesnt smell funnyWww@FoodAQ@Com

It should be fine this has no relation to this question but one time i had this bottle of milk and its experation date was like in january and belive it or not it tasted fineWww@FoodAQ@Com

sometimes meat will discolor on the bottom!. It is still in date and does not have an off odor!. If it was not sticky or slimy, it should be goodWww@FoodAQ@Com

I'd eat it!. Maybe would have cut those parts off first though!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

when in doubt throw it outWww@FoodAQ@Com
