You could substitute with a fruit sorbet recipe in your project!.
Recipe for Sorbet is as follows!.
Simply 1/2 recipe if it would suit the project better!.
Ingredients
2/3 cup boiling water
2/3 cup sugar
2 cups fruit puree (4 cups fresh peachs, apricots, berries, etc!.)
Directions
1Pour boiling water over sugar in a small bowl!. Stir till sugar is dissolved!.
2Cover and chill!.
3Sieve fruit puree, if necessary!.
4Combine with sugar syrup!.
5Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions!. or pour into a plastic container and freeze in freezer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

This recipe was originally written to keep kids entertained while camping but you should get the basic idea!.

Tin Can Ice Cream

1 Pound Coffee Can
? Cup Whole Milk
1 Cup Whipping Cream
1/3 cup sugar
? tsp vanilla
A 3-Pound Coffee Can
Crushed Ice
? Cup Rock salt
Fruit, if desired
Roll of duct tape (camper’s friend)

Combine milk, whipping cream, sugar, vanilla and, if desired, fruit into the 1-Pound coffee can!. Use duct tape to securely fasten the cover on the can!. Place inside the 3-Pound coffee can!. Surround the smaller can with ice and rock salt!. Seal the larger coffee can tightly with duct tape!. Kick the can or roll back and forth underfoot for 10 minutes!. Un-seal and open both cans, being sure to wipe off the small can before opening, so that the salt does not get into the mixture!. Stir the ice cream mixture!. Re-seal the small can!. Place it back into the big can; add more crushed ice!. Re-seal the larger can!. Kick it again for 5 more minutes!.

Options: Strawberry: canned strawberry pie filling (approx 3 to 4 Tbsp or less to suit your taste!.
Vanilla: Another 1!.2 tsp of vanilla extract!.
Chocolate: add chocolate syrup (approx 3 to 4 tbsp more or less)
Or ? cup of any chopped fresh fruit!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Basic ice-cream is made by making sauce anglaise - boiled milk or cream with eggs and whipped up sugar stired in over a gentle heat!. - Full recipe for sauce and ice-creams are on cookeryclub - for exact measurements!.
You cool this - then place in an ice-cream machine or place in a freezer and stir every 20 - 30 minutes over 3 - 4 hours until set!.
It can be a lengthy process!.

3!. Add SUGAR and dry NUTS if available
