Chicken w/ BBQ sauce?!
going to grill some chicken!. i say you put BBQ sauce on it after it's cooked a bit!. hubby says put it on while its raw--who's right!? and why!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
Answers:
You are right!. BBQ sauce has molasses and sugar in it!. Sugar burns in open or convection heat!. And don't try to cheat using dry rubs!. Dry rubs are loaded with salt!. Salt is a desiccant!. It leaches natural juice out of anything it comes into contact!. The meat will be tough!.
BBQ, then add the sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I seal the chicken on the bbq then when i flip it over that's when I put on the bbq sauce!. You can do it while its raw but more will come off in the bbq process!. If you seal the chicken THEN put it on, the bbq sauce gets cooked on to the outside and you keep brushing it on!. As it cooks the liquid from the sauce evaporates and forms a coating on the chicken which is much more preferable for me!. Maybe you should try both methods and see which tastes better- but i'm sure it will be the "after" chicken!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like to get my chicken and bake it in the oven first, this way it doesn't burn, it stays juicy and it's never over or under cooked!. After it's done I douse it with BBQ sauce, turn it over and pour more on!. Keep flipping and adding more sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
you put the sauce on about 10 mins before you take it out!. if you put it on raw the tomatoe in the sauce will burn!. it is ok to bast with a sauce like butter and worstershire and italian dressing!. that way the chicken wont dry out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
It will burn on the BBQ if you put it on ahead!.!.!.!. It's best to do a dry rub (paprika, garlic salt, a little chili powder) and then just baste with some sauce about 5 min!. before it's done!.!.!.!. and serve more sauce on the side!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
We grill our meats and then put them in a bowl and toss them with sauce when done!. Most sauce contains sugar, and that causes it to burn and get too charcoaley!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Afterwards!. In fact, you can put the sauce on the table and let everyone put their own on it!. Many people do not like the sauce!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Well!.!.!. if you put it on before it's cooked, I believe that it makes it bad for you soI would put it on once it's grilled!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
No-- you're right-- wait after it's cooked a bit!. Some say right before the end but I say maybe half way then again before the end!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
