Answers:
You can do BOTH!. First, clean liver, cutting out around vents, wash in cold water, pat dry then salt, pepper and roll in flour!. Saute' in a little butter until golden brown!. Drain off any excess fat!. Take one envelope Lipton Onion Soup mix and 2 cups of water, mix together and pour over liver!. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer until liver is fork tender!. The sauce should be rich, dark and thick!. (you can thicken with a little wondra flour and water to hurry this alone if need be) Top with sliced onions 5 minutes before serving, cover until onion has softened!.
