Question: Good mother's day meal!?
me (14) and my sister (10) want to cook my mom some lunch and dinner for Mother's Day!. does anyone have any ideas of what to make her!? we are Peruvian and i want to make her something she hasnt eaten before!. she said that she wants something that is not too fatty or greasy or sweet and for lunch she'd prefer soup but i dont no wat kind!. instructions or websites would be appreciated!. thnx for the help!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Smothered Chicken

3 1/2 pounds whole cut-up chicken
2 (5-ounce) packets chicken fry coating (recommended: Dixie Fry)
2 tablespoons salt-free chicken seasoning, divided ( McCormick Grill Mates)
Canola oil, for frying
2 (12-ounce) jars roasted chicken gravy
1 teaspoon crushed garlic

Cut away excess skin and fat from chicken pieces!. Rinse with cold water and set aside; do not pat dry!.
In a shallow bowl, stir together fry coating and 1 tablespoon chicken seasoning!. Dredge chicken pieces in coating mixture; set aside!.

In a large straight-sided pan, heat 1/2-inch oil over medium-high heat!. Oil is ready for frying when a drop of water splatters when dropped in!.

Fry coated chicken until golden brown, about 8 minutes per side!. Remove chicken from pan and drain oil!.

In a medium bowl, stir together gravy, remaining chicken seasoning, and crushed garlic; set aside!.

Return chicken to pan over medium heat!. Cover with gravy!. Bring to a boil!. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes or until completely done (no pink near the bone)!.

Cornbread Stuffing

1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken stock
4 tablespoons butter
2 cups frozen seasoning blend: chopped onion, green and red pepper combination
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 (6-ounce) box cornbread stuffing mix

In a medium saucepan, combine chicken stock, butter, seasoning blend, and red pepper flakes!. Bring to a boil!.
Stir in stuffing mix and cover!. Remove from heat!. Let stand 5 minutes!.

Fluff with fork

Green Beans

fresh green beans
1 small red onion
1 tablespoon vinegar
1/4 cup honey
salt
pepper


Cut of the ends off the green beans, boil the green beans for 5 minutes!.

In small sauce pan mix the chopped onion, vinegar, honey, dash of salt & pepper together over medium heat!.

Once the honey becomes thinner remove from heat and mix with the green beans

Oreo Cookie Pie,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,SO GOOD!!! :-) :---}

36 Oreo cookies, crushed
1/2 cup margarine, melted
2 quarts vanilla ice cream
1 jar chocolate fudge topping
2 cups peanuts (optional)
1 package Cool Whip Topping


Mix together crushed cookies and melted butter!. Press 2/3 into bottom of oblong pan to make a crust!.

Layer ice cream on top of crust!. Cover with chocolate topping!. Sprinkle peanuts on top of chocolate!.

Add the rest of the cookie mixture on top!.

Spread Cool Whip on top of cookies!.

Freeze 2 hours and serve!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup :
INGREDIENTS
4 tomatoes - peeled, seeded and diced
4 cups tomato juice
14 leaves fresh basil
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup butter
salt and pepper to taste


DIRECTIONS
Place tomatoes and juice in a stock pot over medium heat!. Simmer for 30 minutes!. Puree the tomato mixture along with the basil leaves, and return the puree to the stock pot!.
Place the pot over medium heat, and stir in the heavy cream and butter!. Season with salt and pepper!. Heat, stirring until the butter is melted!. Do not boil!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

A very good not too hard soup is a chicken corn soup!. Its chinese snd its totally NOT greasy or fattning!. This site will show u how to make it!. Its usually good for lunch!. DIRECTIONS
Thoroughly sift together all-purpose flour, semolina flour, and pinch of salt!. On a clean surface, make a mountain out of flour mixture then make a deep well in center!. Break the eggs into the well and add olive oil!. Whisk eggs very gently with a fork, gradually incorporating flour from the sides of the well!. When mixture becomes too thick to mix with a fork, begin kneading with your hands!.
Knead dough for 8 to 12 minutes, until it is smooth and supple!. Dust dough and work surface with semolina as needed to keep dough from becoming sticky!. Wrap dough tightly in plastic and allow it to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes!.
Roll out dough with a pasta machine or a rolling pin to desired thickness!. Cut into your favorite style of noodle or stuff with your favorite filling to make ravioli!. Bring water to a boil in a large pot, then add 4 teaspoons salt!. Cook pasta until tender but not mushy, 1 to 8 minutes depending on thickness!.
