How do you feel about taking the time to look up recipes and answer a question?!

Question: How do you feel about taking the time to look up recipes and answer a question!?
and the poster (asker) isn't polite enough to select a best answer ever!? Do you boycott future questions from that poster or do you just take the 2 points and run!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are times when I do search to find the perfect recipe!.!.something exactly what they specified they wanted!.!.and there have been a few times where I actually gave recipes from my own recipe box, that I had to sit down and type out!. When I do that, and the person doesn't even bother to pick a best answer, it kinda urkes me!. I feel like I really took the time to give it my all, and they couldn't be bothered spending 2 minutes to pick an answer!. For the most part, I do this for fun, but we all like being chosen as best answer, don't we!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well I rarely follow recipes to the T for things anyway, except for when baking!. I like experimenting and I like offering ideas for dinner etc!. I don't mind taking the time to look something up if I've not got it in my head because I spend time looking for recipes/food presentation ideas anyway on a daily basis:))
It's not about the points, but I'm selective about what questions I answer, because some just don't apply to me, or seem like my information or experience would be of value!. And I don't think it requires boycotting, just paying attention to the types of questions or how they're worded!. Anyway, I presume some people are looking for recipe ideas for dinner, not looking to score points or give them out!. And that's ok!.

Edited to add: I stay away from answering questions that are something to the effect of 'what should I make for dinner!?' Why!?It's not that I don't love brainstorming menu ideas!. It just doesn't seem at all useful to me to offer suggestions to someone if I have no clue what is in their pantry/fridge to work with, just as it doesn't seem useful to me for someone to ask that question without clarifying what do they have in the fridge to work with, or that they have or don't have time to go to the store!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't do it for the points, I just hope I'm a wee bit helpful!. Usually the recipes I offer are T&T by me and in my HD anyway, so it's a matter of just C&P them!. There's not many people for whome I'd type out a recipe!

I dont' have time to keep up w/ loser Q askers, so I don't worry abou tit!.

And very often, I get the best asnwer votes from voters, not the asker!. Either way, it's the same amount of points, wheter chosen by the asker or the voters!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I personally am working on increasing my best answer percentage - so I look for questions that have a low number of answers after a significant period of time, or, for questions that have an "Alton Brown" type focus (because that is my strong suit)!. My husband has over 30% in the computer programming category and I am only at 13% for the food category - and I can be as competitive as the next gal!.

But, sometimes, like now, I just take the two points and run!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sometimes I look up a recipe for peops, but most of the time I just post some of my favorite recipe sites and let them go hunt for what they want!.

Peops could google and find stuff for themselves, but guessing they are too lazy!. I do know the kids are too danged lazy to do their homework and want us to do it for them!!

as to grabbing the 2 points and keeping them, ok, maybe they don't know how to get back to their question and select an answer!. And then sometimes none of the answers really addresses the question, too!.

Sometimes I am amazed that I get the 10 points for a very very sarcastic answer!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like to help, even if it's not acknowledged!. I know some people are just looking for verification of what they already know or just what they want to hear!. I wouldn't boycott future questions, the 3 hour wait to pick a best answer is kind of a pain in the butt and what do the points mean anyway!? It's not like it's for money!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have so much experience cooking, that I never look up a recipe!. If I do not know how to prepare the dish asked, I either give a reference site or skip the question!. I give simple, consise, easy to follow directions and ingredients and hopefully my approach will be rewarded with a best answer!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's nice to receive a best answer, but most of the time, it doesn't bother me!. I just enjoy trying to find some good options to give the poster!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It doesn't bother me really!. I am not really in it for the points!. I just like doing research and trying to give the best possible answer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Feels good looking for recipes!
Nope!.!.!.will not boycott !Www@FoodAQ@Com

Go back later and vote for the best answer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
