Often pastry chefs use apricot jam for a glaze for danishes, etc!.
Get your apricot jam (half a cup) in a small pot and mix it with some (2 tbsp) water!. Put it on the stove on low and stir until it reduces!. Put it through a seive to get rid of the pulp and use your remaining jam as a glaze!.
You can use other jams/ jellies too, but apricot is preferred because it has a neutral flavour!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Regular sugar can be put in the processor for a while with a touch of cornstarch - that will turn it into confectioners' sugar,
Or you could heat regular sugar in a liquid like orange juice or coffee (whatever) or even water - just heat until the sugar is completely dissolved!. Then use that as glaze!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
