How does one neatly slice a cake or cheesecake?!
I'm bringing a cheesecake to a potluck on Saturday and want to pre-slice it!. However, slicing this type of item (or any layer cake for that matter) with a knife always results in a crumby, ugly mess!. Without investing in an expesive new cooking tool, is there any way to slice my cheesecake that will make it look as neat as what you might find in a restaurant or bakery!? They all got it right!.!.!.!.!.!.!.I pour near boiling water in a heat proof jar and let my sharpest knife sit in it and cut slowly but firmly all the way through, remove the knife, rinse under hot water and repeat the process!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.since cheesecake is so dense, it's recommended that you slice one piece at a time, DON'T cut it all the way across the diameter like a pizza, of you'll have a mess!.!.!.!.

If you dip the knife in very hot water to heat up the blade it should cut it cleanly dont use a serrated knife it will destroy itWww@FoodAQ@Com
this sounds silly but you can cut cheesecake in very nice slices with string or dental floss!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Very sharp knife, wiped off then dipped in warm water after each cut!. Usually removing the first portion of any cake or pie is the hardest and not the neatest!. I usually keep that for myself!Www@FoodAQ@Com
