What to make with shitaki mushrooms?!


Question: What to make with shitaki mushrooms!?
My dad grows these mushrooms, and all I have ever done is fry them!. What else can I do with them!? Any recipes that call for shitaki mushrooms!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

PASTA WITH TOMATOES AND SHITAKI
MUSHROOMS

1 lb!. Shitaki mushrooms, cleaned & sliced
1 1/2 c!. coarsely chopped yellow onions
1 tbsp!. garlic, chopped
1/2 tsp!. salt
1 tsp!. fresh ground black pepper
1 tbsp!. oregano
2 lg!. cans imported whole peeled Italian plum tomatoes
1/2 c!. heavy cream
1 lb!. cooked pasta
3 tbsp!. olive oil

Saute onions in olive oil until soft!. Add garlic!. When garlic begins to brown, add spices!. Add sliced mushrooms and cook 5 minutes!. Add tomatoes and break them up a little as you go!. The consistency should be thicker than if you were to use crushed tomatoes!. Cook at least 30 minutes or more!. Add heavy cream 5 minutes before serving over cooked pasta!. This dish is good over cheese ravioli!. Serves 6 as appetizer or 4 as main course!.

1 sm!. chopped onion
4 cloves chopped garlic
1 tsp!. chopped ginger
2 med!. carrots
1 c!. shitaki mushrooms
1 lb!. lean meat (chicken, beef, pork or cat's tongue)
3 tbsp!. soy sauce
1 tsp!. sugar
1/2 tsp!. MSG (optional)
1/4 c!. peanut or corn oil
1/2 c!. chopped spring onions

Slice carrots and mushrooms into julienne strips!. Slice meat into thin strips!. Heat oil in pan on high heat until steaming!. Add onions, garlic and ginger and stir quickly!. Add meat, stirring to keep from burning!. Stir fry on high heat with carrots and mushrooms for 5 minutes!. As meat gets done, add soy sauce, sugar and MSG!. Lower heat and stir fry another 5 minutes!. Serve with spring onions on top as garnish

I slice the caps and cook them with udon noodles, mirin, soy sauce, hoisin, salt, pepper, garlic and some fresh spinach at the end (just so it wilts a little)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
