Can apple pie sit before baking, or is it best to bake immediately then reheat later?!

Question: Can apple pie sit before baking, or is it best to bake immediately then reheat later!?
I'm making an apple pie for the first time and would like to make it in advance in the afternoon to serve later that night!. What's the best way to do this - can the apple pie sit for a few hours before baking it in the oven so that it can be served fresh from the oven, or will this cause problems!?

I've also read that apple pie should sit for a few hours AFTER being baked so the juices can soak in!. If I do it this way instead and bake it in the afternoon, what's the best of heating it up later!? I figure it will get soggy in the microwave but don't want to overcook it by putting it back in the oven for too long!. Could I heat it back up by putting it in the oven for 10 minutes or so without overcooking it!? Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It is true that it should sit for a least an hour after being baked!. To retain the heat, you can keep it wrapped in a kitchen towel after removing it from the oven!. The best way of heating it up later is putting it in to a 350 degree oven for about 5 or so minutes to get it warmed back up again!. Then serve with a scoop of ice cream!. Yum!! :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you let it sit out you will not have flakey crust!.

After cooking it needs to cool down, or all the juice will run to the hole left by removing the first piece!.

Micro reheat is fine!. About 20-30 seconds depending on microwave!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can cook it now and let it sit!. Reheat by putting it back in the oven for a little bit!. Cover the edges of the crust with foil so it wont burn!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
