Ok I know that Scrapple is a big deal in PA- but yuck!! What is your earliest memory of eating or making it!? I can not get past the color and then when I think about the ingredients my stomach turns!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Hey now! Your just not eating it right!.

I slice it a little less than a half inch thick!. Fry it on medium in a little oil so it doesn't stick!. Don't turn it until it's crusted on the bottom!. Turn gently so it doesn't break apart!. Brown the other side!. Serve it with eggs!.

I put ketchup on mine!. Of course, I put ketchup on my eggs and my hash browns too!. Yum!

I think that scrapple is made from sweepings of the cutting room floor at the end of the day!. It's packed into a ball and buried in the ground for six years dug back up and ground fine!. Corn meal is added so that an identifiable item can be listed as an ingredient!. Any seasons are what is accidently spilled over it!. Oh, and this is where they add the final part of the pig!. No, not that part!. It's the oink!.

Scrapple is hard for me to find where Iive!. I need a dependable source!.

Best Wishes

Scrapple isn't that big of a deal in PA!. I lived here forever and I've never tried it!. Some people I know love it, and others can't stand it!.
The ingredients are pretty nasty - yuck, thinking about them makes me lose my appeitite!.

Scrapple is the 'regional food' here, and the recipe was supposed to have been made over two hundred years ago by colonists!. I guess that's pretty cool, but all they had back then was !. !. !. !. pig!. And then,BOOM, scrapple was created!.
So, I guess it's really an opinion thing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I'm originally from the area too and I never got into eating scrapple!. The name scrapple pretty much says it all!. Everything from the scraps of a pig except the squeal is put into making this dish!. I know some who fry it in grease then top it with syrup!. Sorry, not my "cup of tea" either!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
