I asked this same question two months ago, and can you believe some people actually told me not to do it!.!.!.that I might come across as nosy, or they would just throw my offering away!.!.!.I am so glad I didn't listen!.!.because my welcome gift was warmly received, and now we are friends!. It's nice to see there are still people out there like you and me!.
Anyway!.!.I made chocolate chip cookies, only because she has 2 small children!. I think muffins, or a bundt cake are great if you like to bake!. If you really enjoy cooking, maybe a "one dish wonder" type of casserole, since there's no time to cook when you're moving in!.
These muffins are kick-a** :

You are very thoughtful!. However, since you don't know your neighbors yet and have no idea about their likes and dislikes and whatever allergies they might have, it is hard to say exactly what dish they would like!. How about talking with them first and offer something such as cake and coffee and see what their reaction might be!. Tell them you are bbq'ing, cooking something specific and invite them over!. That way you will know if they like it or dislike it!. But your gesture, I am sure, will be appreciated!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you know them and they drink, a GOOD bottle of wine or champagne is always safe and nice welcomeing gift

If you're bringing it over the day they move in, a casserole is always nice (in a disposable aluminum pan) with a salad!. !.!.!.One time when we moved, a neighbor brought us coffee and the muffins, the morning AFTER we moved in - which was good, because I hadn't unpacked the coffeepot yet:) !.!.!.!.!.!.!. After a couple of days, cookies or a bundt cake are nice (something that might last a couple of days), plus a list of phone numbers (and locations) for things like the closest grocery store, pharmacy, dry cleaners, etc!.!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
