Answers:
Always make it with Ajinomoto's hondashi!. 1 tsp!. for 3 cups of water!. That gives it a very good base flavor!.
Cook any vegetables you like in it, daikon, onions, eggplant, spinach, etc!. It is not as traditional as kombu and tofu but it makes a very nutritious meal!.
After the vegetables are cooked how you like them THEN add the miso!. Stir well and serve hot!.

little sprinkle of dashi (bonito flakes)
cubed tofu
seaweed
schichimi (red pepper mix)
