Mix 1 lb of ground beef, a splash of Worcestershire sauce, pinch salt, pinch pepper!. Quarter the mix and shape into 4 oblong patties!.
Brown the patties in a large skillet- set to the side- you dont have to cook them all the way through at this point, just brown them!.
To the hot skillet add 3 tablespoons of olive oil or butter and 3 tablespoons of flour!. Mix and melt until it turns a tan color!. Add in 1 can of beef broth and a bay leaf!. Stir until it come to a small boil- at this point if it is looking very thick, then add a bit of water!. It should be the constinency of whole milk!.
Season the sauce to taste with salt and pepper
Add the patties back in a place a lid on the skillet!. Let it simmer on med-low until the patties are cooked all the way through!.
Check the sauce for consistency- again if it is too thick add water, if it is too thin, let it cook little longer with teh lid off!.
Taste again and make sure it is seasoned well enough!.
Serve with mashed potatoes and peas- Enjoy :)Www@FoodAQ@Com

Salisbury steak is very much like a large flat hamburger using the best beef low fat steak and mincing it!. Seasoning is like your hamburger seasoning!.
When the frying is done, remove the steak to plate and I would cut 1/2 sweet Spanish onion diced or sliced into the drippings in the pan and fry --add sliced mushrooms and a 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp flour , salt and pepper and fry again until caramelized add 1/2 cup of water to create a gravy and 1/4 tsp beef soup base powder!. Stir!. This will give you a tasty gravy for your steak and mashed potato if you choose to add it as a side!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't go by a recipe but I can tell you how I do mine!.
beat a couple of eggs and dredge your steak in the egg mixture!.
Have a bowl of flour with salt, pepper or other seasoning set aside!.
Dip the egg washed steak in the flour on both sides!.
Heat a skillet with canola or any type oil!.
Fry the steak about 6-8 mintues on both sides!.
After the steaks are done, remove them from the skillet and use the skillet drippings for your gravy!.
Make sure the oil and drippings are hot, add salt and pepper and heat it back up!.
Add about 4 tsp of flour and mix it up!. Still while this browns!.
After the flour is brown (make sure not to burn the flour) add water (for a brown thinner gravy) or add milk for a creamier gravy!.
Let this mixture cook on medium high making sure the bottom doesn't stick!.
Should only take about 10 minutes or less!. It will get thick!.
Add more water or milk as needed!. The key is the salt and pepper for your sauce!.
Good Luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
