How can I add wheat germ to a recipe?!

Question: How can I add wheat germ to a recipe!?
I have a great recipe for banana bread but I want to make it healthier!. Is it okay to replace some of the flour with wheat germ!? For example half a cup of flour with 1 cup of wheat germ!. Or should I just add the cup of wheat germ in addition to the amount of flour the recipe calls for!?
Thanks!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Wheat germ is really easy to add into recipes, but a little does go a long way - if you put too much it will give a strange (kind of bitter) taste!.
I'd say the first time, try subbing 1/4 cup of flour for 1/3 cup of wheat germ!.
If you like it, next time try a little more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

my mother does this, too!. just add the wheat germ to the recipe with a little extra (1-2T) of water mixed with honey!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
