Help! Ruined dinner dish!?!

Question: Help! Ruined dinner dish!!?
Ack!! I was making a traditional Mexican dish involving meat, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, celery and carrots when my hand slipped while adding the olive oil!. I now have a dish that tastes more like olive oil than anything else!. It's still got a long way to go before the dish is fully cooked, so I'm wondering if it can still be repaired while it's all sauteeing!. Any ideas on how to 'soak up' some of the excess oil flavor!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
pour through a strainer and pour some water into it!. return to pot and add spices!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Turn off heat!. Perch your skillet so that all the meat and veggies are pushed to one side!. Let the oil run downhill to the other side!. Then use a turkey baster to squirt it up, paper towels to absorb it, or even a spoon or ladle to slowly scoop the excess grease out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if this is a chunky dish I would suggest pouring it thru a strainer so most of the oil drains out!. then return it to the pan and keep cooking!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
