Cake-like Cookies?!


Question: Cake-like Cookies!?
I just made a batch of Chocolate Chip cookies and they came out very cake-like!. Where did I go wrong!? How can I correct this!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

What you did was place them to close!. If if it turned out like a bar or cake it's still good just cut them up like bars and enjoy!.
They still taste like chochip cookies there just bars LOL

When I cook Chocolate Chip Cookies it didn't look like a cake!. I'll just give you the recipe!.

Ingredients
? 3/4 cup sugar
? 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
? 1 cup butter
? 1 large egg
? 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
? 1 teaspoon baking soda
? 1/2 teaspoon salt
? 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
? if desired, 1 cup chopped pecans


Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees!. Mix sugar, brown sugar, butter and egg in a large bowl by hand!. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt!. The dough will be very stiff!. Stir in chocolate chips!. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet!. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown!. The centers will be soft!. Let cool for one minute then remove from cookie sheet and place on wire rack to finish cooling!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here's the recipe that I always use:

1 cup margarine, softened!.
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/4 cups flour
1 12 oz package chocolate chips!.

Heat oven to 350!. Cream margarine and sugar together!. Add vanilla, egg, and baking soda and mix well!. Add flour gradually and beat until completely mixed!. Fold in chocolate chips!.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake 8 to 10 minutes!.

One thing that helps is to mix the cookies by hand so that you get a rougher texture!. also, take them out while the centers are still soft, and let them sit on the baking sheet for a little while until firm enough to pick up!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
