There are a couple of little tricks that you can do when using a cake mix to make it taste better!.
Follow the cake mix directions except for a couple of things!. When you add the oil, put in the amount it says, then add 1/3 cup more!. When you add the water, put in the amount it says then add 1/3 cup more!. Then follow the remainder of the directions and bake as it states!. I personally would use 2 round pans, it just makes for a "prettier" cake in my opinion!. Its just an option, not something you have to do!.
Does he like strawberries!? If so you can get some strawberries and place them on top to make it look pretty!. You could even drizzle some melted chocolate on top of them!. Just use your imagination, I am sure it will turn out very nice!
Good luck, tell him you love him, and dont sweat the small stuff!Www@FoodAQ@Com

well, to make it moist, make sure you add the eggs and add about 2 tablespoon milk into the batter!. that sould make it softer!. as for the frosting, you can use the decorating tips to make a frame on the edges of the cake!. you can decorate the sides with colored vanilla frosting with umm!. !. !. !. !. !. !. !. !. !. your husbands name maybe, or a lovey dovey phrase, or just happy birthday or i love you!. you can whip up anything if you have the ingredients! good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
You can do this on any cake recipe!. Use applesauce instead of oil!. If it calls for 2 T!. oil, use 2T applesauce!. It will make the cake really moist!. I use applesauce in all my cakes, pancake and breads!. Just don't use it in Brownies!. I would mix some frozen strawberries in the vanilla frosting, spread a layer between the cakes, and frost only the top of the cake!. Then top the whole thing off with some whole strawberries, with the stems still on them!. You could skip the vanilla frosting and use whip cream along with the strawberries!. You can never go wrong with whip cream and strawberries!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

bake up your cake using your cake mix into 2 round pans!. Once cooled, spread one of the cakes with the frosting, then top that with some really nice fruit jam (strawberry or rasperry would be good) then place the other cake on top and frost the whole thing!. Garnish with some fresh berries and shaved chocolate on top!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
An old tip !.!.!. bake the cake the day before and freeze it!. Then, when you are ready to frost it, remove it from the freezer and let it thaw for about twenty minutes!. Frost it while it is still quite cold !.!.!. this seals in a lot of moisture!. You can always put something different between the layers than frosting - caramel topping, fudge topping, etc!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
well, any veg oil, milk, anythin glike that, add like, a little bit more!. I've been doing it so long, i know just how much w/o having to look @ the measure, but I would say about an extra 1/8 cup of each depending on the brand of mix!. pillsbury, if you follow the recipe is a little dry!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
