Help! What can I serve with Shepherds Pie to make it go further??!
I've made a biggish Shepherds Pie for a late supper, with peas!. Didn't do extra potatoes (I never see the point!.!.!.my Mum serves new potatoes on the side)
Now Hubby has phoned to remind me he will be home in ten mins and is bringing three (hungry) guys that were helping him with our renovation project!.!.!.sh*it, I forgot about them!.
I could probably get away with a dollop of pie on each plate and quickly steam some carrots to go with the peas!.!.!.but what could I add to make it go further!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

ooh good one - cos you have everything you need in the pie (potatoes, meat and veg!)
hmmmm!.!.!. dont you have any other veg!? we always have in those birdseye bags of steamed veg which take 3 mins in the m/wave!.
id have to say more veg, and some crusty bread!.
failing that, chips!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

have you got any garlic bread in the freezer, that always works well with shepherds pie!.
chips would be deffinately make it go further and with the garlic bread and veg would be a very hearty filling meal!.
other than that any other veg you could cook up with it would also work!. cabbage, green beans, cauliflour and broccolli, carrots, peas with sweetcorn etc!.
good luck hope all goes well,
ps if you cant find anything to make it go far enough, have you got a few tins of soup and some fresh bread and you could always make it a 2 course meal!?!?Www@FoodAQ@Com
