Do you think cooking classes should be part of the school curriculum?!
Answers:
The first step to civilized survival is to cook!. Just like breathing and the intake of fluids the body needs nutrition, I know there are some that say "well you don't need to cook everything", they are correct in that statement, but not "everybody" wants to get their nourishment from plants, civilized was the key word!. I strongly believe that cooking should be on the curriculum, not an elective, a must, just like phys!. ed, if you're going to build your body you have to feed your body, you might as well be taught the right way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
They were optional in high school where I took it for two years back in the day but we were first introduced to home education in junior high school!. It would be ideal but in high school you take your electives and classes that interest you!. It would be hard to incorporate that into the curriculum where it's manadatory!. Alot of schools struggle just to get funding for the basics!.

Yes!. At least the basics of meal planning, measuring, and the different cooking terms!. They can get all that done in half a semester!. I know there are a lot more "meatier" classes kids need to take nowadays, esp!. if college-bound, but cookign is so basic to survival!Www@FoodAQ@Com
Definitely!. Basics for all and more advanced classes for those that want to become better!.
Simply recipes, food hygiene, handling food and recognition!.
I saw on Jamie Oliver's School Lunch Programme how kids couldn't even identify simple veggies!.
If Brit kids are like that I see no reason to believe American and other nationalities would be any better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Most definately, cooking is a basic necessity in life!.Plus it's much healthier to cook for yourself then eating out all the time, it won't cost you an arm and a leg!. also, if someone starts learning how to cook in an early age, they just might find a great career for them in the future!. I took a cooking class in 11th and 12th grade, and it was the best thing I've ever done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
When I went to school, we had to take Home ec!. We had to learn how to cook and sew!. We also had drivers ed!.
These are things they should have kept as a part of the school curriculum!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
