Question: How long do i cook boneless country style pork ribs in crockpot!?
i am going to cook them in bbq sauce in the crockpot and then throw them on the bbq grill for a bit afterwards!. i have heard a bunch of different opions on settings and cook times!. i'm leaning towards 4-6 hours on high!.!.!.sound right!? what do you think!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
The 4-6 hours on high is what is recommended in my crockpot cookbook!. But they may be pretty tender at that point so don't be surprised if they fall apart when you try to put them on the grill!. They'll taste fine if you don't get them on the grill!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Do you have a CROCK POT recipie book, or a recipie booklet that came with your crock pot!? ~~ That always helps with the types of meats & cooking time!. You can probably order one online, or look at the auction sites for an inexpensive one!. //// Of course all meats put into the crock pot need to have some amount of water added at the beginning!. THE PURPOSE OF A CROCK POT is SLOW COOKING~!!! I wouldn't recommend the high setting for as long as you mentioned, if you are going to then put the ribs on the BBQ grill!. You want the meat tender, & not overcooked - (also not falling off of the little bit of bone that is there)!. You might start the setting for the country ribs on high for about 20 to 30 minutes, then turn them down to a lower setting for the remainder of the time!. (not too low!) ~~Sauces are good -you can add a bit to the water in the crock pot, or dry seasonings!. I would wait to brush the main sauce on when they hit the grill!! Sounds YuMMy*!!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Why would you do that!?

If anything you should cook them on the grill first, with a little black pepper!. No sauce!. This will give them the flavor you are looking for!.

Then transfer to the crock pot with the BBQ sauce on medium!.

Grilling last will do no more than burn your sauce!.

Please reverse you process and not just boil your ribs in the crock pot of BBQ sauce!. It will also be greasy that way!.

I used my crock pot for ribs all the time!. On the high setting I would think that 4 hours max would be fine!. You don't want to overcook them!. I have a recipe that I make with onion soup mix, Goya and water and I cook them on low for 5 hours and they are done!. Just my own experience!. I also love Ahso sauce for my ribs - pink and sticky, but delicious!. My mouth is watering now and I am craving ribs - LOL!. Enjoy your dinner!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
