Question: How do I properly season a charcoal grill!?
I bought salt pepper and garlic, but it only seems to burn up!.

Is it supposed to do that!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
No no no!. You'[re doing it WRONG!. You need to rub it down with A1 sauce and old bay!. Makes it much better!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have cast iron grates in mine!. What I did was to scrub completely with HOT water and good soap!. After hand drying I rubbed with olive oil and baked in the oven twice!. Now I just use a scraper and wire brush to get all the major stuff off from the last 'que!. but you have to remember to get it HOT HOT before you put food on it in order to sterilize completely!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

To season a grill doesn't mean to put salt and pepper on it!. It means to heat it to burn off any residue on the metal from when it came from the factory!. Salt pepper and garlic are for meats and veggies not metal!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use old Bay!. At least it smells like somethings cooking and not just burning!. Or Jerk seasoning if your feeling frisky!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Herbes de Provence!.

I thought everyone knew that!.!.!.;0)Www@FoodAQ@Com
