How to keep bread soft?!

Question: How to keep bread soft!?
We're going on a trip and want to take Rye bread, cut up into cubes, in the car for snacks!. Can I just cut the bread and put it in a Zip Lock bag!? How long should it stay soft!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
step1: Freeze the portions of the bread that you will not eat within a few days immediately!. Wrap the bread in plastic tightly so that it remains moist, and use another bag (preferably one with a zipper closure) around the plastic wrapped portion and place in freezer!.
Step2: Allow bread that is freshly baked to cool completely before storing!. When warm bread is sealed it can create moisture that causes the bread to mold early!.
Step3: Place the bread in an airtight container!. A plastic bag works well but a bread box is best!. A container with a lid also works well!.
Step4: Store the bread to be eaten over the next few days in a cool, dry place!. Make sure it is at room temperature!.
Step5: Wrap the unused portions tightly again every time you pull some bread out!. You must continue to re-wrap the remaining bread so it continues to keep the crust on those pieces soft!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can buy plastic portable bread boxes!. You can keep whole loaves in there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Get out as much air as possible, and it will stay moist for hours!.
I would make some nice sandwiches, that beats bread by itself!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you put it in a ziploc bag it will stay soft for days!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The worst that can happen is that it gets hard, and you have rye bread croutons to snack on:)Www@FoodAQ@Com
