Unpasteurised eggs, safe for children?!


Question: Unpasteurised eggs, safe for children!?
I have some free range eggs from a mates chicken!. They roam around a field all day!. The eggs are all sorts of shapes and sizes and unpasteurised!. They are delicious!. Is it safe to feed them to my kids, omelette scrambled etc!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

As long as the yolks are cooked, they will be safe!.
They are probably be safe anyway, I think the only reason eggs are treated is because of the terrible way the poultry industry raises chickens for eggs and meat!.

I remember as a kid going around the farm yard to find eggs in all of the nesting boxes!.
It was of great interest to us to see an egg with a double yolk, something you are unlikely to see these days with the mass production!.
I think many kids today, and younger adults would ever see a double yolker!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I live in a country where we do not have pasteurized eggs!. The important thing to remember is to refrigerate them as soon as possible and make sure they are cooked thoroughly not only for the children but for yourself and others,!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I know that you are not suppose to give children unpasteurized juice, and when you are pregnant you are not suppose top eat anything unpasteurized as well, so I would avoid it if at all possible!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
