Question: How to cook rice in a suacepan without the little terrors sticking to the bottom, making cleaning a ball ache!?
Answers:
I have seldom had this problem!. Rice is cooked 2 to 1!. Two parts water to one part rice!. Bring water to boil, salt, add rice and cover tightly and reduce heat to low or simmer!. Leave without opening for 20 minutes!. Take up and serve!. The only time I have had any sticking is when I don't turn the heat down or overcook it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Pre-wash the rice to get rid of the starch!. Use the biggest suaucepan you have, loads of water, after the water starts to boil, keep tasting a few grains everyy couple of minutes!. When it's almost soft, turn off the heat and drain, boil a kettle of water, empty the rice into a sieve and wash with the boiling water!.
It's a pain, it's easier and cheaper to buy microwavable rice in cartons in the supermarket!Www@FoodAQ@Com

several of the suggestions are good, however if you really want to make rice preparation easy, buy a rice cooker!. it only requires that you add rice and water, press a button and then walk away!. they are inexpensive and worth every penny!. just something to keep in mind for the future!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use plenty of boiling water and keep stirring until the water returns to the boil!.
Reduce to a rolling simmer and begin timer!. 15 minutes makes perfect rice!. Drain and allow to drip for a while, covered with a pot lid!.
Fluff up with a pair of forks and serve!.
