Will boiling sausages...?!

Question: Will boiling sausages!.!.!.!?
remove some of the fat content before I make a "toad in the hole" with them!?

My partner is concerned about removing most of the fat from sausages befor we eat them (she normally does this by grilling them on a trivett and letting the fat drip out!)

If boiling the sausages is the solution - how long would you suggest!?

They are thin (3/4") cumberlands about 8" long!.

Many thanksWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Since saugages (up to 54 varieties) all contain ground meats and a specific portion of fat additive in different quantities depending on the sausage variety, it would be inpossible to remove all the fat!. That is an intigral part of the flavor!. Some sausage should not be boiled at all, and some sausages are already cooked when you buy them!.
Typically Cumberlands are a high meat content of more than 80% so fat content is less than many others!.
I suggest you research the individual type to determine if there is a way to reduce the fat at all!.

Just eat the sausagey fatty goodness!. Never mind wringing the fat out of them!. Your missus must have a screw loose!. We love the lardy content!. Bring it on!
To cook your batter for toad in the hole you need plenty of fat in the tin or pan you cook them in!. Just revel in the joyous world of the artery clogger!. I do!. Mind you, I've had 17 heart attacks, so I'm probably not the best person to ask! And I smoke 800 fags a day!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

sounds similar to bratwurst!.!.!.I boil them for about 30 minutes and then put them on the grill to brown!. Gets rid of some of the fat and yet keeps them juicy so they don't dry out while grilling them to get them done!Www@FoodAQ@Com

depends on the sausages, if there cheap ones, there probably got a very high fat content, and any fat run off will only be minimal!. buy some free range, or some better ones and you wont have to worry about it!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Boiling does help but you have poke holes in skin to let out! grilling is better as the fat will add flavor to the cooking! and will relase more fully!Www@FoodAQ@Com

They need cooking first anyway, so grill to colour and release excess fatWww@FoodAQ@Com

Yes it would and boiling them for about 10 min should be enough!. You'll see some of the oil in the water after boiling it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

let them boil for about 3-5 minutes
just long enough to get heat up then the fat wont be a problemWww@FoodAQ@Com

If you don't want fat in your sausage why not try the 95% fat free ones by Walls!. They are very tasty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Before putting them in the water,Stab them several times with a fork!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
