Use a yeast based sweet dough or if you don't have yeast, find a dough recipe that uses buttermilk and shortening!. also, make sure that every time you are about to fry a batch of dough nuts, your oil is at the correct temp! 375 degrees is ideal!. If your oil is at a cooler temp, than the dough nuts will absorb all that grease!. I personally like to glaze my dough nuts after they have the completely cooled down!. Oh, if you don't want to make your own dough, try using Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits in a can!. That's a quick and easy way to make dough nuts!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Here's a short cut that I do sometimes!.!.!.

You know the canned biscuits, pop them open!. roll them out a bit, cut a hole in them fry them in hot oil until golden brown, and roll them in sugar or cinnamon sugar after they come out!.
