How long does it take to boil fresh corn?!


Question: How long does it take to boil fresh corn!?
how long does it take!? i don't know how to cook fresh corn, but i've been boiling it!. can you go wrong boiling it too long!?!?!?

bring water to boil, I add a pinch of sugar (not salt) to water salt will toughen corn, while sugar makes it sweeter, when water is rapidly boiling add ears, bring back to boil and time 10 min!. perfect every time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Best method for corn on the cob is the microwave!.
Peel back the husk, remove all the silk and wash the corn!.
bring the husk back over the ear and wrap in a paper towel!.
Put the ear in the nuker for 3 minutes and enjoy!
It's the best way of cooking corn and the easiest!

Is it on the cob!? I boil it for 15-20 minutes depending on how big the ears are!. And if it is overcooked, it is tough!.

One tip!.!.!.when cooking corn on the cob, add sugar, not salt!. To an 8 quart pot with 10 ears in it, I add about 1/3 cup of sugar!. Adding sugar helps make the corn sweeter!!! My lil old Polish grandma taught me that trick and I have always used it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I drop the cobs into boiling water for 2-5 minutes depending on the size of the cobs, fish them out with tongs, butter the cobs and make a Royal oink of myself eating them!. If it is overcooked the hulls get tough and the kernels get mushy!.

Get water to a rolling boil
Salt it then, not before!.
Drop corn in the water!.
Immediately turn the heat off!.

I usually boil it 8-10 minutes!.I'll cook up to 6 ears in a 6 quart pot at a time!. If you add too many it won't cooked evenly!. Fresh properly cooked corn will be tender and sweet when done!. if its over cooked it will be a bit mushyWww@FoodAQ@Com

about 10 mins, throw in a couple tablespoons of sugar, in the water, it will bring out the natural sugars in the corn, if you over cook, it may get a little musshy, dump the water when it's done!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
