It depends on the size/shape of your griddle!. I have a rectangular griddle that holds six 5" pancakes!. I use a 1/2 C measure to pour out the batter!. I don't want the pancakes to touch, as they will stick together!. 5" is a good size because larger pancakes than that can be tricky to flip!. If you have a round griddle, or a pan with sides, you may have to make smaller pancakes!. Round griddles are less efficient and pans with sides make it difficult to flip them!. If you make giant pancakes, you may have to use two spatulas to flip!. The thinner your batter, the farther the batter will spread, making a larger pancake!. Good luck!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I make them about the size of my fist!. Remember when mixing the batter, do it rapidly for only about 15 seconds!. It's OK if there are still lump!. When pouring the batter on the griddle, get the spoon as close to the griddle as possible!. This will help to keep the air bubbles intact!. by dropping the batter from a larger height you will break the bubbles and end up with flat tough pancakes!. Flip them when the bubbles are breaking!.
