Bake regular rectangle layers, then stack and trim to fit!.!.!. decorate with diff!. colors of icing for windows, etc!.!.!. maybe put some ppl in back!.!.!. and use Oreos or something similar size/shape for wheels dep!. on how big the cake is :)Www@FoodAQ@Com
You could attempt it by baking 3-4 9 inch square cakes and stack them!.!.!.!.!.2 layers for the "engine" and 3 layers for the cab/compartment!. Just trim them down to the proper dimensions and stack them!. Use a bread knife or an electric knife to trim or round where needed!. also, to keep the layers from shifting run a few drinking straws down through the entire works before icing, just trim off any excess!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Bake the cake in thin sheets, cut into cubes or bricks, and assemble the bulk of it with frosting in between the layers to hold it together!. Trim the cake as needed to fit your design!. This way you won't waste cake!. You could also use a regular loaf pan as the base for your work, and build out from there!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
