How do you make dumplings ?!

Question: How do you make dumplings !?
I'm cooking some chicken quarters in a crock pot and wonder what is needed to make dumplings and when should they be made , thanks :))Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
I use biscuit dough!. Just whip up some bisquick or dough from scratch, or you can even use canned biscuits!. Remove the chicken to a platter, and make sure you have enough broth to cook the dumplings!. (if not, add chicken broth OR water + boullion cubes)!.

Turn crockpot to high, make sure broth is simmering but not boiling!. Drop spoonsful of dough into the broth, making sure all sides are wet w/ broth!. Do not crowd them!. When they are all in, cover, and leave alone for about 30 min!. Do not stire until 30 min are up!.

If you want, you can pick the meat off the bone and add it back to the dumpling/stock once the 30 min are up!. Or just serve a chicken leg along w/ a serving of dumplings!. It's up to you!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

7They can be served with way with paprika gravy or pan fried with a little butter, just until they are a bit golden, and topped with parsley!.

If you like fluffy dumplings, use your favorite buttermilk biscuit recipe!. Should be done at end of cooking!. Add to boiling liquid and cook uncovered 10 minutes and then 10 minutes covered, don't turn!.
If you like the flat dumplings, I cheat!. Get a can of regular biscuits at the grocery store!. Open and roll out the biscuit so it is flat, cut into desired piece size and shape and drop into boiling liquid!. Stir occasionally!. Takes about 10-20 minutes!. Do at end of cooking time!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are as many different ways to make dumplings as there is to cook a chicken!.
Here is my favorite dumpling recipe!. The difference in mine are I use an egg where most recipes do not call for egg!.

so 1 egg slightly beaten in bowl, add a few tablespoons of shortening, beat well by hand, add salt to taste, add a spoon- ful of baking powder, beat really well, add about 1 1/2 cup of flour, until it comes together well, add the flour a bit at a time,
When you have a good sticky dough, you can do one of three things!.!. either drop it into the broth about 15 minutes before serving time, makes a fluffier dumpling!.
You can roll them out gently and cut them, making them more of a noodle and uniform in appearance!.
Or!. NOT my fave, but a cultural learning!.!. takes bits of it and roll it between your palms for a sinker type dumpling!.!. very tough and doughy!.

All dumpling s should be cooked with the lid closed, on a low simmer, assuming the broth was very hot to begin with!. cook for about 10 minutes, do not over cook!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

if you want something super simple then just get a can of those refrigerated biscuits that come in the four pack!.!.!.!.!.!.the generic store brand will work (after all you are going to boil it so buy the cheapest ones possible!.!.!.pop open the can and flatten out your biscuits and cut them into quarters!.!.!.!.throw them into your pot and youve got dumplingsWww@FoodAQ@Com
