Which one is the liver?!
OK - wierd question, but I am making a chicken and the recipe wants me to cook the gibblets EXCEPT the liver!.!.!.how do you know which one is the liver!?

the liver will be the largest organ in the bird!. It's mostly flat, dark red (like old blood) and may be about as big as your palm!.!.!.maybe!. Anyway, it's the biggest one, and it's not round!.!.!.like the other items!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The liver is the softest deepest red colored organ!. The heart and the gizzards will not discolor your broth, that's why they eliminate the liver!. I do cook all of them anyway!. If they bother you just toss them out!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
The liver is the really gelatinous one, the others are more firm!. It is also a deep purple-brown when fresh but it turns greyish when not-so-fresh!.
