Answers:
Assuming they were frozen for half that time, and cold for most of the remaining 6 hours, you're fine!. Bacteria doesn't grow fast enough for there to be a problem!.
Now if you're living at the Equator, and the room was 120 degrees, and you think they thawed out in the first hour or so, and rose up to that room temperature and stayed there for 8 or 10 hours, that would be a different story!.
My wife routinely takes stuff out of the freezer and leaves it to defrost for 8 or more hours and so far, no food poisoning!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can't eat it! Please don't ever leave out meat that is frozen on the counter until it's thawed and then cook it!. The only safe way to defrost frozen meat is to leave it in the refrigerator overnight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
Hey Ryan, I'm a Chef and I have to go with hyperdog on this one!. All it did was allow a bit of bacteria growth!. The meat is not spoiled!. Just cook it thorough to about 165 and you should be fine!. I have done much worse in a restuarant!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
if they are room temp, I'd pitch them!.
if they were still frosty or at least very cold, you could risk it!. But room temp!? No way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
