Too spicy! how can i cool it down?!
my husband put an insane amount of jalepeno peppers in the chili! it burns my mouth! is there anything we can we do to save the pot besides add a ton of cheese and sour cream to our bowls before eating!? i've already added more tomatoes and 2 cans of V8 juice but that hardly touched it!. what magical ingredient might cut that heat!? thanks for your ideas!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Put a few pieces of lemon, peel and all, in your chili!. This will help to neutralize some of the spiciness!. Remove the lemon before you serve it
Add a few cans of pinto beans and/or diced tomatoes!. Just avoid any that have added seasoning!.
Dairy helps to neutralize hot foods so if you are in a hurry and need a quick fix you can add either sour cream or plain yogurt as a topping!.
Add a dollop or two of honey!. You can't taste the sweetness but it knocks out the spice!. It really works!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Adding honey to the chili really helps to tone down the spiciness of the dish!. I have done this one before when I added way too many hot things!. Just keep tasting and you may need to add a pretty good amount of honey for it to work!. Or you can add it to taste in your own bowl of chili!. Sorry to say but the tomato actually added heat to the chili!. For some reason the tomato and the peper love each other and create a firey combo!.

Eat it as a sauce, spooned over a plate of steamed rice!. Yummy!. Or freeze the chilli in 1 cup portions and use it as part of the sauce when you make spaghetti!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
