Looking for a specific muchaca recipe...?!

Question: Looking for a specific muchaca recipe!.!.!.!?
My mom used to make muchaca in the slow cooker!. All she used was a cheap roast, taco spice, and canned tomatoes!. I am looking for amounts of ingredients, and if the tomatoes should be drained, or other liquid added!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Your mom's version is the way I'd go too!. Get some cheap beef--about 3 lbs, a packet or 2 of taco seasoning, a jar of salsa or canned tomatoes--about 28 ounces of salsa or tomatoes!. Cut the meat into large-ish chunks and put it in the cooker!. Add the other ingredients and stir it around!. Leave the liquid from the tomatoes or salsa in there!. Add a couple cloves of garlic or 2 tsp garlic powder, maybe 1 tsp oregano!. You probably don't need to add any salt!. Cover and cook on low 8-12 hours!.

If I were making this, I would brown the meat first in a skillet for more flavor, but it's not necessary!. Just put the meat in a dry skillet on medium-high heat, and cook until brown!. Turn until all sides are browned!. The meat doesn't have to be cooked through!. Then put it in the cooker and proceed as above!.

Make this once--it will be good--and alter the recipe next time to make it your own!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Ingredients:
# 1 chuck roast
# garlic salt (to taste)
# pepper (to taste)
# 1 jar salsa

Directions

1!. Season roast to taste!.
2!. Place seasoned roast in crock pot!.
3!. Pour salsa over roast and cook on high for 4-6 hours or on low for 8-10 hours, until you can shred meat with a fork!.
4!. If you want a crisper meat, you can place the shredded meat on a cookie sheet and bake at 450 degrees for about 15 to 20 minutes, until it gets crispy around the edges!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
