Not really but if you have non-stick cookwear you need to use a wooden spoon, that way you won't damage the bottom of the pan with a metal spoon scratching it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No but wooden spoons don't get hot and they don't melt, that's why I use them!. I replace them almost yearly because they do get old and will splinter and split!. I use mainly cast iron for cooking, not Teflon!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
