Answers:
I think you said it all, I think they are best sauteed in butter or olive oil (both are nice) and garlic, salt and pepper, add a little chopped fresh rosemary if you have it!. I like to cook them on a higher temperature to get that nice dark golden brown color!. Cook them like that and put them on top of some toasted garlic bread!. Like a morel mushroom bruschetta, yum!Www@FoodAQ@Com

There are extensive links to gourmet morel recipes at morelmushroom!.info, such as Morel Ragout, Sauces, Omelets, Steaks stuffed with morels, Morille a la Creme, Fettuccine with Morel and Asparagus, Wild Mushroom Pizza,
Stuffed morels, Morel & Truffle Gratinee, Morels in Puff Pastry with Cream, Morel Pate, Morel Tart, Veal and Morel Pie!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

wash them good!. put a little flour in a bag along with salt and pepper, i love garlic so i would put garlic powder in also!. put mushrooms in bag and shake, pull out shaking excess flour off and fry them in butter!. i like onions too so i would have onions frying in the pan with them!. good to eat like that or add pasta sauce and pour over pasta!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

All these are good ideas!. The most important thing, assuming these are wild picked, is to soak in lightly salted very cold water for about a half to an hour!. This will draw the bugs out, and there will be bugs!. Drain and carefully rinse a couple of times!. Drain well on paper towels!. Then cook in any manner that sounds good to you!. Having just come off the "shroom hunt" season!. We dredge lightly in them in sifted seasoned flour and saute them until golden brown!. Best damn eating I know of!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Saute is best!. Brush them off, trim the stem a little, cut into smaller pieces, and saute in butter!. You could also add diced scallions, and/or crushed garlic!. After they've sauteed a little while, add just a splash of dry white wine (chardonnay is nice)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I remember my mother would clean them, dredge them in a mixture of flour, pepper, salt, then fry them in butter,

I remember them tasting fantastic, but not the most healthy method!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Excellent answers, just don't let anybody tell you to eat them raw!. Morels must be cooked for consumption!. I'm jealous!.
Have fun and good eats!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
