Looks like u never ate beans!. Try chewing the sharp hard pointy bean ends !. Even when cooked it can poke you!.
Who knows it might scratch your belly and intestines if you swallow it without chewing it!. But while chewing it , imagine getting pierced between your guys!.!.!. OuchWww@FoodAQ@Com

by doing both ends, it allows air and liquid to get to inside of pods and thus better flavor and faster cooking!. also it's a better appearance, and the tips can be tougher than the rest of the beanWww@FoodAQ@Com

Because after breaking one end off you need to pull that thin string/membrane on the end completely off and it's easier done with both ends off!. The bean can then be left whole or snapped in half whichever you prefer!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

they are kinda like apples they have stem on both ends to keep it sealed shut and it helps cook faster and lets the flavor set betterWww@FoodAQ@Com

Hm, I dont know!. I only chop off the stem end!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's tough!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
