Question: How do you make flapjacks!?
i lost the recipe i am making them for school tomorrow, what do i need to make the basic flapjack!?

Answers:
75g of butter or margarine
50 - 75g light brown sugar
1 tablespoon of golden syrup
175g of porridge oats


1!. Put the butter or margarine, sugar and golden syrup into a saucepan and stir over a low heat until the fat and sugar have melted!.

2!. Add the porridge oats and blend thoroughly!.

3!. Press into a well greased 18cm square sandwich tin!.

4!. Bake in the centre of a moderate oven at 180c or 350f or gas mark 4 for 25 minutes or until evenly golden brown!.

5!. Mark into fingers whilst warm!.

6!. Allow to become almost cold in the tin before removing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

* 150g (2 cups) porridge (rolled) oats!.
* 2 tablespoons demerara sugar
* 2 tablespoons golden (light corn) syrup
* 100g (1/2 cup) butter
* pinch of salt!.

set the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4

Grease a shallow 18cm round or 15cm square cake tin using a little butter or margarine!.

Put the butter, syrup and sugar into a medium sized saucepan and melt together over a very low heat, stirring with a wooden spoon!. Do not let the mixture boil!.

Take the pan off the heat and stir in the oats and salt, mixing everything together well!.

Pour the mixture into the cake tin and press down with the back of a spoon or a plastic spatula!.

Bake in the centre of the oven for 20 minutes until a golden brown colour!.

Remove the tin from the oven and allow to cool for 15 minutes!. Cut into wedges or squares, but leave in the tin until completely cold before removing!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

BRITISH FLAPJACKS

3/4 c!. butter, melted
3/4 c!. sugar
1/4 c!. honey
1 lg!. egg
4 c!. regular rolled oats
1 c!. coarsely chopped hazelnuts
1/2 c!. raisins

In a bowl, mix together butter, sugar, honey, egg, oats, nuts and raisins!. Pat mixture firmly into a buttered and floured 9-inch square pan!. Bake in a 300 degree oven until deep golden, 50-55 minutes!. Cut into 16 pieces, then let cool in pan!.
Cook some more and remove from pan with a spatula!.

Serve or store airtight up to 5 days; freeze to store longer!. Makes 16!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

*English Flapjack

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
4 tablespoons golden syrup or corn syrup
3 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup raisins

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)!.
In a saucepan over low heat, combine the butter, brown sugar and golden syrup!. Cook, stirring occasionally, until butter and sugar have melted!. Stir in the oats and raisins until coated!. Pour into an 7 or 8 inch square baking pan!. The mixture should be about 1 inch thick!.
Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the top is golden!. Cut into squares, then leave to cool completely before removing from the pan!.

*Whole Oat Flapjacks
4 oz (110 g) soft brown sugar
4 oz (110 g) butter or margarine
1 rounded dessertspoon golden syrup
6 oz (175 g) whole oats (or porridge oats)
? teaspoon ground ginger
Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 2, 300°F (150°C)!.

First place the sugar, fat and golden syrup together in a saucepan and heat it gently until the fat has melted, giving it a stir now and then!. Take the saucepan off the heat and stir in the porridge oats and ginger, mixing thoroughly!. Now pour the mixture into the prepared tin and press it out evenly, using a tablespoon or the back of your hand!. Bake in the centre of the oven for 40-45 minutes!. Then allow the mixture to cool in the tin for 10 minutes before cutting it into oblong bars!. Leave in the tin until quite cold before removing them!. Store in a tin!.

*Honey flapjacks
200g/7?oz unsalted butter
200g/7?oz demerara sugar
200g/7?oz honey
400g/14?oz porridge oats
50g/1?oz nuts, dried fruits or glacé ginger, chopped or desiccated coconut (optional)

You will also need a 20cm x 30cm (8in x 12in) cake tin, greased
Method
1!. Put the butter, sugar and honey in a saucepan and heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved!. Add the oats and nuts, fruit, ginger or coconut, if using, and mix well!.
2!. Transfer the oat mixture to the prepared cake tin and spread to about 2cm (?in) thick!. Smooth the surface with the back of a spoon!. Bake in a preheated oven at 180C/350F/Gas 4 for 15-20 minutes, until lightly golden around the edges, but still slightly soft in the middle!. Let cool in the tin, then turn out and cut into squares!.

Melt butter on low heat, add sugar + syrup and stir until dissolved, then add the oats and mix well!. Bake in a greased baking tin , pressing down well, at 180C for +/- 20minutes until golden brown (if you over cook they will turn out rock hard!!!)!. mark out bars when cooled a little and then place onto a rack to finish the cooling!. 4 level tablespoons golden syrup
3 oz granulated sugar
8 oz rolled oats
quarter level teaspoon salt

gease sq shallow tin, put marge and golden syrup in pan over low heat until marge has melted,remove rom heat,add sugar,oats and salt,mix thoroughly, turn mixture into tin and cook in moderate oven till golden brown, leave to cool and cut in bars!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
