Question: Having game night tomorrow, what should I make!?
Need some yummy food ideas for game night!. No meals!. Just snack ideas!. I don't really want just chips and dip!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We have poker night and these are always the first thing to go!.!.

Bacon wrapped hot dogs
INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds (20) hot dogs, cut in thirds crosswise
1 pound bacon (20 slices), cut in thirds crosswise
brown sugar
PREPARATION:
Take a piece of hot dog and piece of bacon, wrap bacon around hot dog!. Secure bacon to hot dogs with toothpicks!. Layer on a cookie sheet and cover with generous amount of brown sugar!. Bake for 15 minutes on 375 or until bacon looks cooked!. You can then transfer them to a crock pot to keep warm!.

The original recipe called to cook them in the crock pot for several hours but this is faster and allows you to take them out of the grease before putting them in the crock pot!.

If you are still in need of more ideas!.!.!.
Make it easy for people to eat!. Lots of take with you finger foods!.!.!.!.

Bacon Pasteries:
8 strips of bacon, cooked 3/4 C grated cheese
1 sm onion, chopped 1/2 C mayo
1 med tomato, chopped 1T Fresh Basil Chopped
1 Large can refrigerated biscuits( Flaky Style)

In a mixing bowl combine bacon, onion, tomato, cheese, mayo and basil!. Seperate each biscuit into 2 to 3 layers and flatten slightly in your hand!. Press the flattened section of biscuit into mini muffin pans!. Spoon filling mixture into each biscuit!. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes


Mushroom Puffs:
4 ounces cream cheese, cubed
1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 tube (8 ounces) crescent roll dough

In a blender, combine the cream cheese, mushrooms, onion and hot pepper sauce; cover and process until blended!. Unroll crescent dough; separate into four rectangles!. Press perforations to seal!. Spread mushroom mixture over dough!.
Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side!. Cut each roll into five slices; place on an ungreased baking sheet!. Bake at 425° for 8-10 minutes or until puffed and golden brown!.

Truffle Brownie Cups:
1 2/3 c!. chocolate chips
2 T!. butter (not margarine)
1/2 c!. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c!. flour
3/4 c!. heavy whipping cream

garnishes: orange zest, maraschino cherries, toasted sliced almonds, whipped topping

Preheat oven to 325!. Spray mini-muffin pan with Pam!. Microwave 2/3c!. Chocolate Chips with butter for 40-60 secs!. stirring every 20 seconds - until melted and smooth!. Add sugar and egg and stir until smooth!. Add flour!. Fill mini- muffin cups 2/3 full!. Using mini-tart shaper, tap batter to create level tops!. Bake 10-12 mins!. or until edges are set!. (Do not overbake!.)

Meanwhile heat cream in microwave for 1-2 minutes until hot!. Pour over remaining Chocolate chips, and whisk until smooth!. Place in freezer 10-12 mins!. stirring every 5 mins!. until mixture is cooled and starting to thicken!. Spoon ganache into resealable plastic bag!.

After removing brownies from oven, let cool 2 mins!. Press tops of brownies ith mini-tart shaper to make indentations!. Coll 3 more mins!. Carefully remove brownie shells from pan!. Trim corner of ganache bag, and pipe into each shell!. Garnish as desired!.


French Onion Tartlets:
Olive oil cooking spray
12 very thin slices white bread, crusts trimmed (recommended: Pepperidge Farm)
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
2 large onions, very thinly sliced
1 bay leaf, fresh or dried
2 teaspoons ground thyme or poultry seasoning
Salt and black pepper
1 pound Swiss cheese, shredded

Heat oven to 350 degrees F!.
Spray both sides of bread and press bread into small 12 cup muffin tin!. If you do not own a muffin tin, disposable tins are available on the baking aisle of market!. Place bread in oven and toast until golden, 7 or 8 minutes!. Remove and reserve!.

In a skillet, melt butter into oil!. Add onions and bay leaf, season with thyme, salt and pepper!. Cook onions until caramel colored, 15 to 18 minutes!.

Turn broiler on!.

Place spoonfuls of cooked onions in toasted bread cups!. Discard bay leaf!. Cover onions with cheese and set tarts under hot broiler to bubble and brown cheese!. Serve hot!.

Bacon and Tomato Cups

INGREDIENTS
8 slices bacon
1 tomato, chopped
1/2 onion, chopped
3 ounces shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 (16 ounce) can refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)!. Lightly grease a mini muffin pan!.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until evenly brown!. Drain on paper towels!. Crumble bacon into a medium mixing bowl, and mix with tomato, onion, Swiss cheese, mayonnaise and basil!.
Separate biscuits into halves horizontally!. Place each half into cups of the prepared mini muffin pan!. Fill each biscuit half with the bacon mixture!.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven , or until golden brown!.

Corn Salad - It is simple and will be a hit

2 cans mexicorn- drained
1 cup mayo
1 cup sour cream
1 cup mild shredded cheese
1 cup sharp shredded cheese
4 oz jalepanos - chopped
4 tbsp jalepano juice
1 bunch green onions - chopped
2 tbsp vinager
juice from 1/2 a lemon

Mix all together!. Serve with corn chips!. (Best if made the night before and chilled)Www@FoodAQ@Com

You can always do a party-tray that consists of crackers, various types of cheese cubes, pepperoni slices, and salami slices!.

You can also do "pin-wheel" with lebanon bologna, spread cream cheese on a slice, then roll it up like a pinwheel and cut into fours!.

I know you said you don't want chip & dip!.!. but consider torilla chips with Spinach Dip and Cheez Whiz (the spinach dip comes in a jar like the cheez whiz does and it is so excellent)!.

Other suggestions would be corn dogs, mini-tacos, and also you can buy T!.G!.I fridays appetizers at the grocery store!. They have all types ranging from potato skins, mozzarella sticks, and more!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Mexican dip

1 lb!. ground beef
1 tbsp!. chilli powder
1 tsp!. cayenne pepper
1 onion, diced
1 small chile or jalapeno, diced
1 16 oz!. whipped cream cheese
1 bag shredded cheddar cheese


In sauce pan brown meat and onion!.
Add in chilli powder, cayenne pepper and jalapeno!.
In bowl combine meat, cream cheese and cheddar cheese!.
Place in baking dish and bake for 15 minutes

Ingredients
1 packet Warm the Oven! Savory Cheese Dip Mix
8 oz!. softened cream cheese

Directions
Combine ingredients; chill 2 hours!. Place mixture into 1 cup oven-proof crock or ramekin!. Bake at 425° for 5-7 minutes or until heated through!. Serve with chips, crackers or cubed Bountiful Beer Bread!. Makes about 1 cup dip!.

Variations:

Combine ingredients; chill 2 hours!. Place in microwave-safe dish; heat in microwave on medium setting 1-2 minutes or until heated through!.

Chill 2 hours and serve cold as a cheese ball or spread!.

Makes about 1 2/3 cups!.

1 (7-oz!.) container refrigerated pesto with basil
4 ozs!. cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tbls!. grated Parmesan cheese
Assorted fresh vegetables, crackers or bread sticks

1!. Place pesto, cream cheese, sour cream and Parmesan cheese in food processor or blender; cover!. Process until mixture is creamy!.
2!. Serve with your choice of fresh veggies, crackers or bread sticks!.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

1 8 oz!. pack cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1/4 tsp!. vannila extract
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
2 tbsp brown sugar
3/4 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips

Mix cream cheese, butter & vanilla till fluffy!.
Add sugars-beat just until combined!.
Stir (don't mix) in chocolate chips!.
Covere & refrig for 2 hours!. I served in a bowl-you can roll it into a cheese ball also!.

If you want, roll your cheese ball in 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans -right before serving or the pecans will get soggy!.

Serve with graham cracker sticks !)

2 (14 1/2 oz!.) cans black-eyed peas, drained
1 (15 1/2 oz!.) can white hominy, drained
2 med!. tomatoes, chopped
4 green onions, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 med!. bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
1/2 c!. chopped onion
1/2 c!. fresh parsley, chopped
1 (8 oz!.) bottle commercial Italian salad dressing
Combine all ingredients except Italian dressing; mix well!. Pour salad dressing over mixture; cover and marinate at least 2 hours in refrigerator!. Drain and serve with fritos or corn chips!. Makes 7 cups

2 C!. butter
1 1/2 C!. brown sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp salt
12 oz chocolate morsels
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 C!. flour
2 tsp baking soda
Beat butter, sugars, vanilla with mixer until creamy!. Add eggs; beat till fluffy!. Add flour mixture gradually!. Add chocolate chips!. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet!. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown!. makes approximately 12 dozen!.

White Chip Chocolate Cookies
Cream Together:
1 C!. margarine
2 eggs
2 C!. sugar
Add:
2 tsp vanilla
2 C!. flour
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cocoa
1 tsp soda
1 2/3 C!. white chips
Bake at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes!. Drop by teaspoon!. Dont over bake!. Makes 4 1/2 dozen cookies!.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C!. butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 C!. flour
1 tsp baking soda
6 oz chocolate chips
1/3 C!. brown sugar
1/2 C!. peanut butter
1 egg
1/2 C!. oatmeal
1/4 tsp salt
Beat sugar, butter, peanut butter, vanilla, and egg until creamy!. Mix in dry ingredients and chocolate chips!.
Drop by rounded tablespoons on an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart!. Bake 10 to 12 minutes!. let cool 1 minute before removing from pan!.

Crab Strudel

12 tablespoons (1? sticks) unsalted butter, divided
3 scallions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 pound lump crabmeat, drained and picked to remove shells
2 teaspoons fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
1 lime, juiced
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
10 sheets phyllo dough (such as Pepperidge Farm)
1/4 cup plain dry breadcrumbs

Preheat the oven to 400oF!. Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a medium saute pan, add the scallions and garlic and cook over medium-low heat until the scallions are soft, approximately 5 minutes!. Add the curry powder and stir!.
Shred the crabmeat into a bowl and mix with the parsley, lime juice, salt and pepper!. Add the crabmeat to the scallion mixture!.
Melt 10 tablespoons of butter in a small pan and set aside!.
Unfold 1 sheet of the phyllo dough!. Brush the sheet with melted butter and sprinkle with bread crumbs!. Repeat the process by laying a second sheet of phyllo dough over the first sheet, brush it with melted butter and sprinkle with bread crumbs until 5 sheets have been used!. Spoon a 1-inch wide row of the crab mixture along 1 edge of the phyllo dough!. Roll it up!. Brush the top with butter and set aside!. Repeat the entire process using the all the phyllo dough and crab filling!.
Cover a sheet pan with parchment paper!. Score the crab strudel diagonally into 1 1/2-inch pieces and bake for 12 minutes, or until the top is lightly brown!. Slice and serve!.

1? (8 oz!.) blocks light cream cheese
1/4 cup plus about 2 Tbsp!. sugar
1/3 cup plus about 2 Tbsp!. light brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla

Mix and serve with gala apple slices, ginger snaps, Nilla wafers or graham cracker sticks!. (rinse cut apples w/ any citrus juice to prevent browning)

Sausage Squares

1 roll pork sausage
1 small onion, chopped
1 green bellpepper, chopped
cayenne pepper to taste
oregano to taste
1 (8 oz) block cream cheese
1 pkg!. crescent rolls

Fry sausage with onion and pepper; drain!. Stir in cayenne pepper and oregano to taste!. Add cream cheese!. Roll out crescent rolls to 1/4 inch thich!. Spread meat mixture down the center of dough!. Fold sides in to make a rectangle loaf; seal seams!. Bake at 350oF until brown and slice into one-inch squares!.

HEAVENLY HAM SANDWICHES

1 c!. butter, softened (no subs)
3 Tbsp!. poppy seeds
1 tsp!. Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp!. prepared mustard (or use a sweet-hot mustard)
1 medium onion, minced
1 lb!. cooked ham, chopped-to-minced
12 oz!. shredded Swiss cheese (can sub ? Cheddar)
60 small party rolls (Pepperidge Farm) or biscuits

Mix butter, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard!. Add onion, ham and cheese; mix well!. Slice rolls lengthwise and place bottom ? back in pan!. Spoon mixture over rolls!. Place top ? of rolls over mixture!. Bake at 325° for 15 minutes or until heated throughout!. (These can be frozen before baking!.)

Great appetizer or brunch!.

Spinach Gruyere Puff Pastry Pinwheels

1 (10 oz) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
4 Tbsp!. butter, divided
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
4 ounces Gruyere cheese, grated
1 (17? oz) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed

Preheat oven to 350o F!. Drain spinach well, pressing between layers of paper towels to remove excess moisture!.
Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a skillet over medium heat!. Add mushrooms and cook, for 5 minutes!. Stir together spinach, mushrooms and cheese; set aside!. Roll 1 pastry sheet into a 13 by 11-inch rectangle!. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter!. Brush 1/2 melted butter over pastry!. Spread 1/2 spinach mixture over butter!. Roll-up, jellyroll fashion, starting with the long side!. Repeat procedure with remaining pastry sheet, butter, and spinach mixture!. Wrap rolls in plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 2 days, if desired!.

Cut rolls into ?” thick slices!. Place on lightly greased baking sheets!. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown!.

here some recipes I've used for nibbles before

Chilli And Cumin Cheese Straws

These crispy yet buttery cheese straws can be cooked in advance and served warm!.


Ingredients
100 grams aged cheddar, pecorino or parmesan cheese, finely grated
1 red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
3 sheets pre-rolled puff pastry
1 egg beaten
cumin seeds to sprinkle

Method
1!. Toss the cheese and chilli together!. Place one sheet of the pastry on a floured board and spinkle over ? the cheese and chilli mixture!. Repeat the layers and finish with a layer of pastry!.
2!. Roll firmly with a rolling pin to press the layers together!. Fold the bottom third up and the top third down and give the pastry a quarter turn!. Roll out again so that the pastry is longer than it is wide!. Repeat the folding again and roll out to 0!.5cm thickness!.
3!. Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with cumin seeds!. Using a floured long knife, cut the pastry into strips about 0!.5cm wide!. Twist the strips and place on a greased baking tray!.
4!. Fan bake at 200oC for 10 minutes or until golden!. Cool on a wire rack!. Serve warm

Nutty Dukka (Serves: 10-12)



Ingredients
70 grams pistachio nuts
70 grams walnuts
70 grams almonds
? cup sesame seeds
? cup coriander seeds, toasted
2 tblsp cumin seeds, toasted

Method
1!. Roast pistachio nuts, walnuts and almonds at 180oC for 10 minutes until golden and toasted!.
2!. Cool, then process in a food processor with sesame seeds, coriander seeds and cumin seeds until the mixture is chopped finely!.
3!. Season well with salt and pepper and serve in bowls accompanied by olive oil and warm unsalted breads for dipping!.

Sambuca Melting Moments

Here is something sweet to finish off the drinks party with!.


Ingredients
250 grams butter
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 cup flour
1 cup custard powder
125 grams butter
1 tblsp Black Sambuca
1/2 cup icing sugar

Method
1!. Beat the butter well until light!. Continue beating in the sifted icing sugar until fluffy and pale!. This is best done with a wooden spoon!.
2!. Sift the flour and custard powder together and mix gently into the creamed mixture!. Turn the mixture onto a floured bench and press together!. Allow to rest for 20 minutes!.
3!. Roll out the dough and cut into small shapes!. We have used baby-sized 2!.5cm heart and star cutters!. Remember to cut an even amount of each!. Place on a greased tray and bake at 180°C for 12 minutes!. Cool!.
4!. Join similar shaped cookies with the Sambuca Butter Icing!.
5!. Butter icing - Beat the butter and sifted icing sugar together until very pale!. Beat in the SambuccaWww@FoodAQ@Com
