Answers:
You can buy the canned cooked chicken, or boil it in water, or I suppose you could use leftover baked chicken!.

You can also buy pre-cooked chicken cubes now in the lunch meat section, or buy frozen cooked chicken meat to thaw and use!.

Oil in a pan would make it fried or sauteed--that's not really the texture and taste you want for chicken salad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Use whatever you have! Here are some options:

leftover grilled or baked chicken (make extras with this in mind)
rotisserie chicken from the grocery store (great in chicken salad)
poached chicken (This is what I use when I don't have leftovers!. See below!.)

POACHED CHICKEN (for recipes that call for cooked chicken)

Butter
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper to taste
Juice of 1 lemon
Water or chicken broth

Arrange chicken in single layer in a lightly buttered skillet!. Season with salt and pepper!. Sprinkle with lemon juice and dot with 2 tablespoons of butter!. Pour the water/broth around chicken!. Cover and simmer over very low heat for 15-20 minutes, or until breasts are tender and center of meat is no longer pink!. Remove from heat and let chicken cool in poaching liquid!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I like to make chicken salad with those rotisserie chickens you can purchase in any supermarket, It is already cooked, you just take the skin off, use the meat you like, either white meat (breast meat or wings), or the dark meat (thighs and legs)!. Or you can grill it, bake it boil it or even use left over fried chicken, just be sure to remove the skin!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Doesn't matter, you can cook it however you like!. A little oil in a pan will work as will either grilling it or oven baking it!.

Whichever you do just make sure that it's cooked through (i!.e!. is NOT pink and has juices that are runing CLEAR)

Feeling REALLY lazy!?!.!.!.!.but a pre cooked chicken and use that!Www@FoodAQ@Com

you would take one chiken cutlet, add to boiling water and simmer for about 15-20 minutes!. remove and chill!. you could do this the night before!. then cube , add sufficient mayonnaise and diced celery!. a little salt and pepper!. about atablespoon or two of sweet or india relish goes nicely, too!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

any type of method would work for the chicken, and cubed means cutting it into little chunks!. or you could even buy one of those fully cooked roasted chickens from the store which have already been marinated, its convenient and cheap!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it means cook it until it's edible however you want it!. if you like baked chicken stick it in the oven, if you want to cook it in a pan, do it!.
good luck!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

it jus needs to edible, like ready to eat chicken!. Some stores sell it like that, if not jus cook your own!. i believe they want you boil it or grill it since this is a salad!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Grill the chicken on the stove then its ready to put in your saladWww@FoodAQ@Com

oil in pan, then cook the chicken!. or grill itWww@FoodAQ@Com

It means boiled!. You boil it, then you cube it!. I have been making it for 25 years, so please trust me!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

i would say that it is boiled chicken!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
