no it does not go bad or spoil but it can lose its potency over time & in turn lose flavor but it should be fine if you keep it sealedWww@FoodAQ@Com
Herbs and spices do lose some potency as they age!. No! you will never find an expiration date on them!.
So you should put a purchase date on everything when you bring it home from the store!.
Some people toss herbs and spices after 6 months, some after 12 months, and some of us are such penny pinchers that we have some rarely used herbs and spices in our cabinets for up to 25 years when our granddaughters come in and toss everything when we die!!
No, herbs and spices do not go bad or spoil! It just takes more of them as they age until they have no power left!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The good news is, spices do not spoil!. The bad news is, they lose their strength!. What is interesting is that a lot of cookbook writers tell you to purge your pantry once an herb or spice is about 6 months old!. But the spice companies — among them behemoth McCormick and specialty spicer Penzeys — are not so reckless!. They tell you to keep and use the spices as long as they appear to have flavor — and they trust you to be able to tell!Www@FoodAQ@Com
I don't think spices and herbs can go bad, per se!. But I do think that they lose their flavor after awhile!. And when you buy from a store shelf, you never really know how long its been there!. So I would buy fresh, and you'll see, quite obviously when they go "bad"!. It can be more expensive, but then you know that your cooking will always taste the way it should!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
I am guessing that you mean the dried kind!. It could go bad if it is moist enough!. Dried herbs lose their taste as they age!.
It should be fine to use, but if it's old, you way want to buy some new oregano to have it more tasty!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I don't think so!. My parents have a big jar of oregano in the kitchen!. They have had it for years, and the artwork on the label looks like something from the 1970s!. They still use it today!. In fact, I had a pizza today with some on it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If you are referring to a ready-to-use paste and you cannot find an expiry date I wouldn't use it after 2 weeks of it being opened!.
If ya game & it looks & smells ok & has been refrigerated it will probably be ok!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
