Party Meatballs (Cocktail Weenies)

Serves 10-12!.

3 lbs!. frozen meatballs, slightly thawed, or 3 lbs!. cocktail weenies
2 (12-oz!.) jars chili sauce or BBQ sauce
1 cup grape jelly

1!. Put meatballs into slow cooker and pour chili sauce over all!.
2!. Add grape jelly!.
3!. Cook on High for 3 hours, stirring once about halfway through cooking time!.
4!. Serve directly from the slow cooker or put in a decorative serving bowl!. Use party toothpicks to spear meatballs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

COCKTAIL MEATBALLS

1 lb!. ground beef
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c!. cracker crumbs
2 tbsp!. instant minced onion
2 tbsp!. sweet pepper flakes
9 drops Tobasco
1/4 tsp!. garlic salt

SAUCE:

3/4 c!. catsup
1/2 c!. water
1/4 c!. vinegar
1/3 c!. firmly packed brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp!. instant minced onion
1 tsp!. mustard
1 1/2 tsp!. salt
4 tsp!. Worcestershire
6 drops Tobasco

Mix all ingredients except sauce!. Shape into 1 inch balls!. Place single layer of meatballs in ungreased 15 x 10 jelly roll pan or 13 x 9 inch pan!. Bake at 325 degrees F!. for 30 minutes!. Place meatballs in casserole!. Combine sauce ingredients and pour over meatballs!. Bake 1 hour longer!.

I love meatballs in a sweet/sour sauce!. This is a good one and sometimes I add pineapple chunks to it!.


Quick-and-Easy Sweet-and-sour Sauce

2 tbsp!. cornstarch
1 tsp!. paprika
6 tbsp!. cold water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 tsp!. salt

Heat oil (1 to 1 1/3")!. Mix together, water, flour, salt and baking powder!. Dip chicken into mixture, allowing excess to drip back into bowl!. Place into hot oil and fry until done, turning once (about 2 to 3 minutes on each side)!. Drain on paper towels!. Dip into sweet-and-sour sauce!.

To make sauce: Dissolve cornstarch and paprika in cold water!. In another bowl, combine sugar, water, vinegar and salt; heat for 5 minutes!. Add the cornstarch mixture, and cook until sauce thickens and boils!. Sauce freezes well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Go with Nano and Detailer!. I have been doing the grape jelly and chili sauce combo for years!. Just make sure and use Welches grape jelly and I prefer the chili over the cocktail sauce!. Just mix half and half and simmer your meatballs until heated through and you are good to go!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You're not going to believe this!. It sounds awful but tastes great!. Heat equal parts of grape jelly and barbecue sauce!. That's it! pour it over the meatballs!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
