What fruits are currently in season?!

Question: What fruits are currently in season!?
I am making a pavlova for a dinner party, and I always like to change the fruit that I put on top of the cream - can anyone tell me what's in season at the moment!?

I'm in England, by the way!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

The folks who promote fruits and vegetables that are grown elsewhere and shipped in as great have obviously never eaten the real thing!. Here in North Carolina we are feasting on strawberries right now!. They may be in season in your area as they are typically the first fruits in areas that have four distinct seasons!. I agree with the poster who suggested going to the farmer's market but be sure to ask if the product is local!. Another option for finding fresh produce is to check the classified ads in the newspaper!. Good luck with your dinner!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Rhubarb (the outdoor sort, not the pink forced variety)!. You'll have to wait until June for the following to come into season:

Apricots
Blackcurrants
Cherries
Gooseberries
Strawberries

Much as I love rhubarb, I'm not sure it would work on a pavlova!. You could always use frozen raspberries as they're frozen at the height of the growing season and seem to keep their flavour and texture well!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I use sliced kiwi and halved green seedless grapes for a lovely change, the acidity of the fruit goes well with the sweetness of the meringue

OK just read you add on, and you may be surprised to hear that there are no British fruits in season at the moment, unless they have been forced!. You could have rhubarb but thats a vegetableWww@FoodAQ@Com

go to your local farmer's market and you'll know what's in season, and it will be fresh and delicious!. A rhubarb pavlova sounds fabulous! If there's nothing, high quality preserves of some kind would be great!.!.!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Everything is in season somewhere in the world and with air freight we can have fresh fruits and veggies everyday that were picked yesterday somewhere!.
