Answers:
It just won't have a "vanilla" flavor!. That's okay, I'm sure the texture will be perfect and it will have a good flavor even if it doesn't shout VANILLA atcha ;-)Www@FoodAQ@Com

What is a hummingbird cake!? Vanilla isn't an overly strong flavoring, and if you used butter instead of oil or shortening, the cake will be rich and have flavor - but without knowing the cake, or the recipe, I can't give you an answer!. You'll have to try the cake and find out for yourself!. Omitting the vanilla will only eliminate a drop of moisture, and won't affect the texture of the cake if that's a concern!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

It won't drastically affect the taste of the cake, but if you're used to eating it, you will taste it and wonder what that "something" is that's missing!. Real, pure vanilla CAN truly make a difference, and if you missed that, you MAY be able to taste a slight difference!. It also may smell different for lack of vanilla, too!. However, I'm sure it's still yummy!. Hummingbird cake is good!Www@FoodAQ@Com
