Deep-fryer dessert recipes?!
Answers:
Well, churros are by far my favourite to make (and eat lol) mostly for nostalgia reasons after living in Spain as a kid!. Traditionally though it's more or less served with hot chocolate or morning coffee but I make them for dessert here (Canada) and serve them with ice cream or other things!. Or as special treats!.
CHURROS
1 pint water
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
approx 10 ounces BREAD flour
oil for deep frying
sugar for dusting (if you want or people can dip individually)
Bring water, oil and salt to boil in a big (roomy) pot!. As soon as it's boiling, beat in flour, one handful at a time until it's a smooth soft ball that will leave the sides of the pan clean!. Let cool!.
Put the dough into either a cookie press with a big (about thumb sized) star shape,!. or into a piping bag with the same sized star tip!. Only pip out about 6 at a time, finger length pieces of dough!. Lay out on a flour dusted clean towel!. (If you make more than that at a time, they form a skin and explode in the oil)!.
Meanwhile heat deep-fry pan full of oil until it's extremely hot!. I've never marked the temperature, it's hot enough though that it's slightly hazed with blue!. Drop your churros in there and cook until golden brown!. The key to the oil temp: if too hot the outside of the churro will cook but the inside won't, too cold, and the dough will break up in the oil!.
Lay them out on paper towel!. While you're cooking the first batch you can pipe out the next batch!. Takes a bit of practice to get perfect, like most things!. But oh so yummyWww@FoodAQ@Com

I was just reading "Key Lime Pie Murder" by Joanne Fluke!. One of the featured desserts was Deep Fried Candy Bars!. They used the batter for Funnel Cakes, about twice as thick as pancake batter, and chilled candy bars either full size or the bite size ones!.

Oh, By the Way!!! Her murder mysteries are very well written and have recipes for lots of cookies in them as well as a few cakes, pies and very few but some main dishes that are really easy!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
