Answers:
A fluid ounce of water also weighs 1 ounce, so 1 pint of water would weigh 1 lb!. If your talking grams there are 28!.35 grams to an ounce round down to 28 grams!. I would also suggest getting an electronic scale that uses ounces and metric grams!.

Let's see if I can explain this to you!. If i have milk I will pour it into a measure cup and I go from ounces ( liquid) to cup!. But for a piece of cake I am not altering its shape, which is what i'd have to do in order to use the measuring cup, so I have to use a scale!. This means I'm going from ounces ( solids) to pounds!.
Therefore, we can see that " ounces" eventhough, the word appears the same is not the same!. One instnace refers to a solid measure and the other refers to a liquid measure!. Like the words " To" and "Too" and "Two!."
So we can now say that they are two different beasts, a cup is used specifically for a liquid measure, and that is why the smallest unit in the cup is the liquid ounce ( to differentialte between the solid ounce)!.
We also see the pound is a solid measure which consist of solid ounces ( to differentiate from liquid ounce)!.
Completely different bu similiar !.!.!.!.!.
Once liquid is in a container like the cup it can be measureed by weight and you have a solid essentially that you're dealing with and measuring it as if it were a solid so your using all solid units!. You cannot do this to a solid ( treat it like a liquid)!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You'd need to have a scale for solid ounces!. Liquid ounces are different than solid ounces!. Liquid ounces are measured by volume!. Solid ounces by weight!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

one ounce (for solid) is approximately 25 gm!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
