Flexible silicone or plastic cutting boards - good or no?!

Question: Flexible silicone or plastic cutting boards - good or no!?
I'm considering buying some flexible silicone or plastic cutting boards, like found here:

http://www!.chefscatalog!.com/product/2423!.!.!.

I wonder though about their durability, if they protect both countertops and knives, and if they really hold up to being in the diswasher!.

Do you recommend them!? Why or why not!?Www@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Actually, Silicone is durable, able to withstand high temperatures without melting, is dishwasher safe and does not leach evil chemicals into the food!. It does not dull knives as hard plastics or Corian will!. And you can easily transfer sliced, chopped or minced foods without spilling or additional steps of picking up product and possibly dropping it enroute to the bowl or pan!. All of which translates to a highly acceptable product in my book!. I happily recommend it!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have a plastic one because it is more durable!. Not the ones that are like glass!. The ones that give when you cut into them!. They are dishwasher safe and they give a lot better than those glass like ones!. Better for your knives!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Plastic are diswaher safe but will get cut marks in them over time- I personally like silicone and yes they can hold up in a dishwasher most silicone can take up to 500 degrees heatWww@FoodAQ@Com
