Question: Can you make instant mashed potatoes using only water, not water milk and margerine!?
going on a camping trip, dont want to lug butter/evaporated milk with me, just would the potatoes work out, teh package calls fr a little bit of milk and butterWww@FoodAQ@Com

I find that the butter and milk do make a difference in the fluffiness and flavor!. Take a box of plain soy or almond milk (doesn't need refrigeration) and use a bit of cooking oil in place of the butter!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

You should get carnation powdered milk!. It's really cheap and won't anything more tha+ +n a few ounces to your gear!. Butter Buds will also give the flavor without the weight!. Have fun on the trip!!Www@FoodAQ@Com

Yes, although I think I would take packets of the new all in one potatoes!. The packets are light weight and you can get a variety of flavors!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
